The only surviving mosque of the ten that once stood in Toledo, this modest yet beautiful building on the northern slopes of town was built around AD 1000 and preserves architectural traces of medieval Muslim conquerors including vaulted arches and original masonry. It was converted to a church after the Reconquista, adding religious frescos while preserving most of the original Islamic vaulting. A rare and intimate piece of Toledo's three-faiths heritage.
