The Guinness-record deepest gorge per width ratio in the world — and almost nobody outside Greece knows it exists.

Listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest gorge in the world relative to its width — the vertical walls of the Vikos Gorge in the Zagorohoria region plunge over 1,000 metres. The trail along the gorge floor follows the Voidomatis River through ancient plane trees and wildflowers, emerging at the village of Vikos or Papingo. Stone arch bridges dating back centuries span the gorge approaches.
